Hornby's Storm-petrel
Peter Pyle relays fantastic news of a new North America sighting of Hornby's Storm-petrel. The bird flew alongside and in
front of the CSCAPE
cruise boat for about 3 minutes. Photos are credited to Cornelia Oedekoven copyright by Southwest Fisheries Science Center, La Jolla, CA.
The bird was seen 2 Aug 2005, ~1555 p.m., 33.57 N 120.40 W, 12 nautical miles WSW
of San Miguel Island, California. Observers: Peter Pyle, Gary Friedrichsen,
