Let's face it, seasickness happens. Regardless, there are a few
things that you can do to help prevent it from happening.
Before
- Get plenty of sleep the night before.
- Avoid greasy foods the night before and the morning of the
trip.
- Dress warmly.
- For some, ginger works - start three days beforehand.
- Take a seasickness pill at least a half hour before the
trip.
- Pack plenty of food and beverage. Food and beverages are not sold
on the boat.
- Bring a hat and sunglasses.
- Think of all the great birds and mammals that you will
see!
During
- Stay out of the cabin. Fresh air is the best remedy.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Try to keep eating something.
- Ginger capsules may work.
- Try a dab of White Flower Oil on your upper lip.
- Scopalomine patches work for some people.
- There's a handful of other remedies that people have tried. No
one item works for everybody. Ask your friends.
- Think of all the great birds and mammals that you are
seeing!
After
- Relax.
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Eat!
